ENROLMENT TERMS & CONDITIONS

Please read these terms and conditions (these T&Cs) carefully as they contain important information regarding the application and acceptance processes of the courses (the Courses) offered by us (Qurio) and the rules relating to the daily operation of Qurio. By using services provided by or otherwise relating to Qurio (including application for Courses) (the Services), you are indicating that you have read, and that you understand and agree to be bound by, these T&Cs. If you do not agree to these T&Cs, you will not be able to access or otherwise use any of the Services.

ENROLMENT

  1. Application for a place (the Place) in Courses must be submitted by completion of an online application form available on the website of Qurio (the Application(s)).
  2. Parents and legal guardians (the Applicant(s)) of a child must not submit more than one (1) Application for each child in respect of each Course period.
  3. An Application number will be assigned to each Applicant after submission of the Application. Please retain the assigned Application number for future enquiry and correspondence purposes.
  4. An Application form has to be duly completed and accurate (including submission of all required documents as well as timely and full payment of relevant tuition fees) to be valid. An incomplete and/or inaccurate Application form will lead to the cancellation of a confirmed Place (if any).
  5. Qurio shall have the sole and absolute discretion in the allocation and/or cancellation of the Place.
  6. Qurio may deliver notices, newsletters and other correspondences to the Applicants from time to time. Applicants must make sure that the email address provided in the Application is correct and that Qurio is not blocked by the email service provider or otherwise prevented from delivering emails to such e-mail address (please check the spam mailbox from time to time). It shall be the Applicant’s responsibility to ensure all emails are timely read and to comply with the timeline set out in the emails (as applicable). Qurio shall not be responsible for any email delivery failure under all circumstances.
  7. The Applicant understands and agrees that the participation and completion of all lessons of the relevant Course is a condition to their enrolment of the Course (details as then notified by Qurio). Once Qurio has already received a duly completed Application form under these T&Cs, Qurio shall have the sole and absolute discretion whether to accept any subsequent change request(s) made by the Applicant subject to an administrative fee to be determined by Qurio from time to time in handling any such change request(s).
  8. For the avoidance of doubt, any child who has been successfully enrolled in any Course will not be given any guarantee or priority in securing a place in any playgroup, pre-nursery or kindergarten classes offered by Little Habs or Learning Habitat Kindergarten & Bilingual Nursery respectively. If Applicants wish to enrol their child in these playgroup, pre-nursery or kindergarten classes, please visit the website of Little Habs at littlehabs.com or Learning Habitat Kindergarten & Bilingual Nursery at www.learninghabitat.org respectively to undergo the usual application processes.
  9. Due to the high demand for the Courses, Applications will be considered on a first-come-first-served basis.
  10. All lessons held by Qurio, irrespective of whether they are lessons conducted at the centre of Qurio (the Centre) (the Physical Lessons) or whether they are lessons conducted online (the Online Lessons and, together with the Physical Lessons, known as the Lessons) will be scheduled each week at a fixed time slot based on our Course timetable as may be updated from time to time.
  11. By using any voucher(s) issued by Qurio in relation to the Services, the Applicants are indicating that they have read, and understood and agreed to be bound by the relevant terms and conditions of such voucher(s) from time to time.

PAYMENT OF TUITION FEES

  1. For all Lessons, Applicants may choose to make payment of tuition fees by online payment either via Faster Payment System (FPS) launched by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority or such other online payment platform/method as notified by Qurio from time to time. Applicants will be redirected to the applicable payment system interface for completion of the Application.
  2. For certain Courses, Applicants may be given the choice to either: (i) make one-lump sum payment of the full amount of the relevant tuition fees; or (ii) by way of instalments (details as then notified by Qurio).
  3. Applicants are responsible to verify the total amount and billing details are correct before confirming the payment for their Application for the relevant Lesson(s). The Applicants shall be solely responsible for all applicable payment charges relating to their payments of tuition fees for the Lessons. We will not be held responsible for any loss or expenses arising from or relating to the Applicants’ use of their respective payment methods.

RULES RELATING TO THE OPERATION OF QURIO

NORMAL CLASSES AND ADVERSE WEATHER ARRANGEMENTS

  1. It is understood and agreed by the Applicants that the official operating hours for the Centre and Qlubhouse are from 10a.m. to 7p.m. (from Tuesdays to Fridays) and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (on Saturdays). The Centre and Qlubhouse will also be closed on public holidays unless otherwise notified.
  2. When Typhoon Signal No. 1 and/or the Amber Rainstorm Signal is hoisted (whether before or during Lesson time): (i) all Lessons will continue as scheduled until the normal dismissal time; and (ii) it is the Applicant’s choice whether their children shall attend the Lesson(s) or not. It is understood and agreed by the Applicants that there shall be no refund of Lesson fees and no arrangement of make-up Lessons where the Applicants choose to not let their children attend the Lesson(s).
  3. 17) When Typhoon Signal No. 3 (or above) and/or the Red/Black Rainstorm Signal is hoisted during the Lessons: all Lessons will continue until the normal dismissal time. However, the Applicants may make their own arrangements for their children to be dismissed earlier if they so wish (as applicable). It is understood and agreed by the Applicants that there shall be no refund of Lesson fees and no arrangement of make-up Lessons where the Applicants choose to not let their children attend the Lesson(s) or leave the Lesson(s) earlier (as applicable).

For pre-school level Lessons only: 

  1. When Typhoon Signal No. 3 (or above) and/or the Red/Black Rainstorm Signal is hoisted on or before 8:00 a.m. on Monday to Friday or on or before 7:00 a.m. on Saturday: unless otherwise notified by Qurio by email or SMS, all morning Physical Lessons will be switched to Online Lessons. It is understood and agreed by the Applicants that there shall be no refund of Lesson fees and no arrangement of make-up Lessons for any and all such affected Physical Lesson(s) and/or where the Applicants choose to not let their children attend the Online Lesson(s) (as applicable). For avoidance of doubt, all Online Lessons will continue as scheduled.
  2. When Typhoon Signal No. 3 and/or the Red Rainstorm Signal is lowered and/or the Extreme Conditions announcement is cancelled by the Hong Kong Government before 12:00 p.m.: unless otherwise notified by Qurio by email or SMS, all afternoon Physical Lessons shall resume and be held at the Centre two hours after cancellation of (i) Typhoon Signal No.3; (ii) the Red Rainstorm Warning Signal; and/or (iii) the announcement of Extreme Conditions by the Hong Kong Government (whichever is latest). It is understood and agreed by the Applicants that there shall be no refund of Lesson fees and no arrangement of make-up Lessons for any and all such affected Lesson(s) and/or where the Applicants choose to not let their children attend the Lesson(s) (as applicable). For the avoidance of doubt, all Online Lessons will continue as scheduled.
  3. When Typhoon Signal No. 3 (or above) and/or the Red/Black Rainstorm Signal will be/is hoisted at or after 12:00 p.m.: unless otherwise notified by Qurio by email or SMS, all afternoon Physical Lessons will be switched to Online Lessons. It is understood and agreed by the Applicants that there shall be no refund of Lesson fees and no arrangement of make-up Lessons for any and all such affected Physical Lesson(s) and/or where the Applicants choose to not let their children attend the Online Lesson(s) (as applicable). For avoidance of doubt, all Online Lessons will continue as scheduled.

For primary school level Lessons only: 

  1. When Typhoon Signal No. 3 and/or the Amber/Red Rainstorm Signal is hoisted (whether before or during Lesson time): (i) all Lessons will continue as scheduled until the normal dismissal time; and (ii) it is the Applicant’s choice whether their children shall attend the Lesson(s) or not. It is understood and agreed by the Applicants that there shall be no refund of Lesson fees and no arrangement of make-up Lessons where the Applicants choose to not let their children attend the Lesson(s).
  2. When Typhoon Signal No. 8 (or above) and/or the Black Rainstorm Signal is hoisted on or before 8:00 a.m. on weekdays or on or before 7:00 a.m. on Saturday: unless otherwise notified by Qurio by email or SMS, all morning Physical Lessons will be switched to Online Lessons. It is understood and agreed by the Applicants that there shall be no refund of Lesson fees and no arrangement of make-up Lessons for any and all such affected Physical Lesson(s) and/or where the Applicants choose to not let their children attend the Online Lesson(s) (as applicable). For avoidance of doubt, all Online Lessons will continue as scheduled.
  3. When Typhoon Signal No. 8 and/or the Black Rainstorm Signal is lowered and/or the extreme conditions announcement is cancelled by the Hong Kong Government before 12:00 p.m.: unless otherwise notified by Qurio by email or SMS, all afternoon Physical Lessons shall resume and be held at the Centre two hours after cancellation of (a) Typhoon Signal No.8; (b) the Black Rainstorm Warning Signal; and/or (c) the announcement of Extreme Conditions by the Hong Kong Government (whichever is latest). It is understood and agreed by the Applicants that there shall be no refund of Lesson fees and no arrangement of make-up Lessons for any and all such affected Lesson(s) and/or where the Applicants choose to not let their children attend the Lesson(s) after the resumption of Lesson(s) (as applicable). For avoidance of doubt, all Online Lessons will continue as scheduled.
  4. When Typhoon Signal No. 8 (or above) and/or the Black Rainstorm Signal will be/is hoisted at or after 12:00 p.m.: unless otherwise notified by Qurio by email or SMS, all afternoon Physical Lessons will be switched to Online Lessons. It is understood and agreed by the Applicants that there shall be no refund of Lesson fees and no arrangement of make-up Lessons for any and all such affected Physical Lesson(s) and/or where the Applicants choose to not let their children attend the Online Lesson(s) (as applicable). For avoidance of doubt, all Online Lessons will continue as scheduled.

CAREGIVERS, SICKNESS & HYGIENE

  1. For Physical Lessons:
    i.)  if a student of Qurio (the Student) feels sick or shows any symptoms of any infectious disease, he/she should not attend the Centre for his/her Physical Lesson(s);
    ii.) Students under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult when arriving and leaving the Centre;
    iii.) where applicable, Students will be checked for body temperature and their hands will be sterilized before entering the Centre; and
    iv.) in the interests of the health and safety of all children, if any of the aforementioned Students shows any symptoms of sickness or his/her body temperature is higher than 99.5℉ or 37.5℃, Qurio shall have the right to request him/her to leave the Centre. No refund of Lesson fees or make-up Lesson will be arranged for any and all such affected Lesson(s).
  2. For Online Lessons, where applicable, a Student must have an accompanying adult present for the entire duration of the relevant Online Lesson. The accompanying adult must be available to promptly (i) provide responses and support as requested by the teacher(s) of the relevant Online Lesson; and (ii) report any behavioural concern of the relevant Student to the relevant teacher.

SPECIAL NEEDS

  1. Parents/caregivers should make known to Qurio of any special educational needs of the relevant Student that need to be identified. Please reach out to our customer service staff for more information and complete the necessary special education needs form.

FOOD AND OTHER ALLERGIES

  1. Generally, Students are not permitted to eat during the Lessons as food provides a distraction to others and may be dangerous if certain Students in the Physical Lessons are allergic to the food being consumed. Occasionally, food may be provided as part of a special activity or for Lessons with a longer duration or may be permitted by the relevant teacher(s) of the Lessons. It is the responsibility of the parents/caregivers to inform us about any food or other allergies of the relevant Student. For the avoidance of doubt, Qurio is not responsible for any food or other allergies of Students (whether or not caused by purchases from vending machines in the Centre).

OTHER MANNERS AND ETIQUETTE DURING THE LESSONS

  1. For all Lessons, Students must be appropriately dressed and well prepared for their Lessons (e.g. have the appropriate materials, paper and stationaries in hand). They must participate and communicate respectfully with other Students and teacher(s), and follow instructions provided by the relevant teacher(s).
  2. To ensure a secure and happy environment that is conducive to the learning for all Students, all Students must behave appropriately during all the Lessons. Behaviour that causes harassment, alarm or distress to other Students and/or teachers is contrary to Qurio’s values. All properties within the Centre belongs to Qurio and must not be taken away by Students or accompanying adult. In the event any Student or accompanying adult break or otherwise damage the property of Qurio, such Student or accompanying adult is responsible to pay for all repairs or otherwise replacement cost. In case of any dispute, Qurio reserves the right of final decision.
  3. Qurio reserves its right to require a Student to leave the Lesson(s) or otherwise exclude his/her participation (temporarily or permanently) in the relevant Lesson(s) (whether with or without prior warning) where, in its reasonable view, such Student has failed to behave appropriately during any such relevant Lesson(s).
  4. Mobile phones must not be used at any time during Lessons unless otherwise as instructed by the relevant teacher(s) of the Lessons.
  5. Parents/caregivers and Students are strictly prohibited to take photos, record audios and/or videos by any means at all times during the Lessons. Save and except by the staff of Qurio, photos taking, audio recording, transferring video or video recording by any person is prohibited in the Centre and Online Lessons. Applicants understand and agree that they shall not resell or transfer any and all video recording/audio recording of the Online Lesson(s) (whether with or without consideration (monetary or otherwise)) to any other person.

RULES REGARDING REFUND AND MAKE-UP LESSONS

It is understood and agreed by the Applicants that, for all Lessons:

  1. All tuition fees for the Courses, once paid, shall be non-refundable and non-transferrable to any other person under all circumstances, including but not limited to dropping-out prior to the completion of the relevant Course(s) due to any personal reasons.
  2. The scheduled dates and times of the Lessons are not subject to changes unless otherwise determined by Qurio
  3. No make-up Lessons and refunds of Lesson fees will be arranged under all circumstances, save and except when the following applies:
    i)  in case where Lesson(s) are affected due to relevant teacher’s sickness or absence, Qurio shall use its best endeavour to arrange a substitute teacher for such affected Lesson(s). It is understood and agreed by the Applicants that there shall be no other alternative arrangement of such affected Lesson(s) where the Applicants choose to not let their children attend the Lesson(s) with the substitute teacher or otherwise make-up Lesson(s) (as applicable);

    ii) in case where there are circumstances beyond the control of Qurio (including but not limited to outbreak of riots, civil commotion, epidemics, natural disasters, and unanticipated Lesson(s) disruptions such as necessary building evacuations of the Centre due to fire or technical issues of Qurio), Qurio may, at its absolute discretion, request the Students to change any and/or all his/her Physical Lesson(s) to Online Lesson(s), subject to terms then determined by Qurio. It is understood and agreed by the Applicants that there shall be no other alternative arrangement of these cancelled Lesson(s) where the Applicant/the Students choose to not change the relevant Physical Lesson(s) to Online Lesson(s) and/or where the Applicants choose to not let their children attend the relevant Online Lesson(s) (as applicable).

  4. All Lessons (including the relevant applicable make-up Lessons) must be used within their respective term periods as specified in the respective Course description on Qurio’s website/as otherwise notified by Qurio from time to time. Any and/or all unused remaining Lesson(s) cannot be carried forward and will be deemed forfeited without any compensation or refund.

SECURITY OF QURIO 

  1. Students must present their access card and name badge to attend Physical Lessons or otherwise enter the Centre. Qurio access cards and Qlub House memberships are personal, non-transferrable and non-refundable.
  2. Qlub House and all its facilities are only accessible by the Students and staff of Qurio, whereas Learning Quarters may only be entered with the permission of staff of Qurio.
  3. Upon completion or otherwise termination of each Course respectively, Students must return their Qurio access card to Qurio. Students should notify Qurio (by phone +852 2667-9370 or email to quiri@qurioed.com) immediately in the event of lost or stolen access card. HKD300 will be charged for each lost or replacement of access card.
  4. Surveillance cameras are installed and being used in the Centre as a security measure.

DISCLAIMER

  1. To the extent permitted by applicable laws, Qurio does not take any responsibility for any injuries of the parents/caregivers and/or Students, nor any loss or damage of personal belongings (whether within the premises of Qurio or otherwise) suffered or otherwise claimed by such persons.  Valuable belongings shall not be left unattended within the premises of Qurio.

MODIFICATION OF T&CS

  1. Qurio reserves the right to, at its sole discretion, modify the provisions of these T&Cs at any time and from time to time without prior notice from Qurio and without consent from the Applicants.
  2. The original text of these T&Cs is in English. In the event of any inconsistency between the English version and the translated Chinese version, the English version of these T&Cs shall prevail.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS & CONDITIONS

I hereby confirm that I have read and agree to be bound by all of these T&Cs and I am ready to proceed with the Application. In case of any dispute, Qurio reserves the right of final decision.

COLLECTION OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Each Applicant agrees that the collection, retention and use of his/her and his/her child’s personal information by Qurio shall be governed by the relevant personal information collection statement and Privacy Policy of Qurio (as may be revised, updated or otherwise amended from time to time).

PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTION STATEMENT

The Applicant understands and agrees that the personal information provided in the Application form will only be used for the purpose of processing the Application. The personal information retained by Qurio will be treated in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
